Workshop occupies a handsome Georgian townhouse in the centre of Winchester. Inside, the space looks and feels more like a private members’ club than your typical office space and there are abundant plants, each individually named. Above all it is a community, where people collaborate and support each other. There are no egos, no hierarchy, just an inviting place to work and share ideas.
We created this brand identity and website as a direct response to this way of thinking. The logo mark captures the spirit of community and collaboration, with the 'tables' rearranged in different combinations to constantly create and recreate the W shape. These blocks provide a graphic language throughout the identity which symbolises the coming together of different businesses, people and ideas.
Working closely with the team we set about trying to create clarity around the brand principles and priorities for Workshop and how to incorporate these into communication for word of mouth, on and off line. Athletics, by Omse Type was chosen to help communicate the playful and approachable nature of the identity. The colour palette is warm and natural, reflecting the materials used throughout the workspace.
